During irradiation of a carcinoma of the head and neck the lymph nodes of the cervical region are more exposed to irradiation than the remaining lymph nodes. Irradiation of the neck in head and neck cancer is often combined with a surgical operation. The irradiated lymph nodes will be transplanted together with the tumour to a region where they are not exposed to irradiation. The histological examination of the lymph nodes leads to the conclusion that the irradiation induced neoplasms are the same as the untreated ones. Therefore we do not recommend to perform a lymphadenectomy in irradiated lymph nodes as a preventive measure to decrease the development of distant metastases.Originally Posted by Scorpio2212
They could have put in manual controls with the slot to change to the different speed. I had a motorbike with this kind of transmission and they could go as fast as you wanted. I don't think that was possible though and they were only built for motorbikes as far as I know.
This is most likely true. the bikes these days are generally too small and light to have a kickstarter or a hand throttle, plus the fact that a kickstarter is not required, so now there isn't a need for that mechanism either.
That is not correct. Today's motors are lighter than they were in the 40's. If they were heavier, you could still have a kickstart. However, we are talking about small engines, not large motorbikes.

I never suggested the larger motors were as heavy as their smaller counterpart and if the kickstarter could be replaced with a hand throttle it would make a lot of sense. On a small engine you still need the starter, the kickstart only makes it easier.
